The award-winning Palace Coral Gables, a premier independent and assisted living community, has been featured as one of three luxury retirement communities in the UK documentary, “The World’s Most Luxurious Retirement Homes.” The series, which premiered this summer on Channel 5 in the United Kingdom, offers an inside look at the world’s most opulent retirement communities. These lucky ladies met in the 1950s and have kept their bond strong for nearly 75 years, calling themselves "The Girls of the Sacred Heart." The lifelong friends gathered once again to celebrate with a joyful tea party hosted by The Palace Royale. The event was filled with laughter and memories of their school days in Havana.

The Palace at Weston hosted a special event to honor Edwin Jorge, a 9/11 survivor and former Regional Manager of the New York Peace Corps Office. Edwin had been ni Building 6 of the World Trade Center when the North Tower collapsed.
In 1980, Coral Gables resident and Is- raeli native Helen Shaham founded The Palace Group with the dream of setting new standards for senior living communi- ties in Miami-Dade. She began modestly with her first community in Opa-Locka (now sold), followed by another in Homestead, and then Kendall in the 1990s (there are currently four there).

South Florida resident Lou Miller recently celebrated a monumental milestone—his 100th birthday—and WSFL was there to capture the moment! The festivities at The Palace Senior Living were a grand affair, complete with balloon arches, photo ops, live entertainment, custom chocolate bars, and even a special proclamation from the Mayor of Weston.
The Palace Gardens, an assisted living and memory care community in Homestead, recently hosted a successful back-to-school event, demonstrating the power of community and creativity. Through the artistic talents of the residents, whose beautiful paintings were sold at Family & Friends events throughout the year, funds were raised to provide essential school supplies, including a tablet, for 45 students from the Homestead area involved with This is For the Kids Inc.
A special recognition that is a Palace tradition is the prestigious “Manager of the Year” award. This year, The Palace celebrated the award’s 20th anniversary, with 19 managers receiving this coveted honor.a fishing, and a special guided hiking tour of the National Seashore.
On August 15, 2024, Weston resident Louis Miller reached an extraordinary milestone: his 100th birthday. Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1924, Louis's life journey is one filled with adventure, talent, and resilience. Despite losing his father at a young age and being raised by his mother alongside his four siblings, Louis developed a love for reading, fueled by his brother who worked in bookbinding, and a passion for music, ignited by another brother who gifted him a saxophone.

than with a Gorgeous Grandma fashion show? The Palace Gardens Activities team, including the Assisted Living and Memory Care
departments, managed the annual Gorgeous Grandma Fashion Show.

The Palace Nursing & Rehab Center has been awarded the prestigious Gold Seal Award from the Governor’s Panel of Excellence in Long-Term Care.
The Palace is the only nursing center in Miami-Dade County and one of only 12 out of over 600 nursing centers in Florida to receive this recognition. In addition, The Palace Nursing & Rehab Center has received a top 5-star rating from Medicare, the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission, and is rated by U.S. News & World Report and Newsweek as one of the best in Florida.

I recently visited The Palace Gardens Senior Living Community on April 17th, and attended a dog show featuring the loving pets of residents, staff, and volunteers. The room there was decorated with dog-themed balloons and streamers, and a table was aligned with doggy winner's medals and goodie bags for their handlers.
Global life expectancy is on the rise. But while people are living longer, they’re not necessarily living in good health, which has a high cost for society. Now, one foundation is offering a $101 million funding prize to any team of scientists able to develop a treatment that can restore a senior’s vitality for at least a decade.
